How Moonlight Peaks Builds Expressive Portraits

An official dev log introduced Brook, Pumpkin Head, Evan, Dragan, and Ludo while explaining the game’s dialogue portrait process.

An official August 2025 development log offered one of the clearest early looks at Moonlight Peaks’ cast. It named and discussed Brook Logan, Pumpkin Head, Evan Ambrosia, Dragan, and Ludo, using their portraits to explain how the team handles dialogue emotions.

Brook’s portrait was revised as the game’s visual style changed. The update kept his pose but adjusted eye level, eye contact, structure, and a blue rim light meant to suggest moonlight.

Pumpkin Head created a different problem because a carved pumpkin does not have ordinary facial features. The artists turned the candle flames inside his head into readable pupils, then added small fireflies to keep the portrait warm rather than frightening.

The team described Ludo as playful, expressive, and genuine. His expression sheet shows how the portrait system carries emotion through dialogue instead of leaving each character with one static face.

The post said the project planned emotional variants for 33 characters at that stage. That figure describes the development plan from August 2025, while the launch store copy separately advertises roughly two dozen romanceable residents.
